Okay, so I saw this super cute “A Cup of Christmas Tea” cup and saucer set the other day, and I just had to try and make my own version. I’m not a pro at crafting, but I figured, why not? It’s the holidays!

Getting Started
First, I needed to find a plain white cup and saucer. I hit up a local thrift store, and boom – found a perfectly good set for like, two bucks. Score!
Gathering Supplies
Next, I needed some supplies. I went with:
- Red and green paint(make sure is not washy washy)
- Some skinny paintbrushes
- A pencil
- Some sealant spray (to make it last)
The Messy Part (Painting!)
I lightly sketched out some holly leaves and berries on the cup and saucer with the pencil. Don’t press too hard, or it’ll be tough to erase later. Then came the fun part – painting! I started with the green for the leaves, trying to make them look kinda realistic…ish. It took a couple of coats to get the green nice and solid.
After the green dried, I went in with the red for the berries. Little dots, mostly. I’m not gonna lie, my hand was cramping a bit by the end, hah!
Fixing My Mistakes
Of course, I messed up a few times. Smudged a leaf here, made a berry too big there. But hey, that’s what damp paper towels are for! Just wipe it off quick and try again.

Making it Shine
Once everything was dry (I waited a full day, just to be sure), I took the cup and saucer outside and gave them a good spray with the sealant. This helps protect the paint and makes the whole thing a bit more durable, this is must do step.
The Final Result!
And…that’s it! My very own Christmas teacup. It’s definitely not perfect, it has some, uh, “character,” let’s say. But I made it! And I think it’s pretty darn cute. Now I just need to brew some actual Christmas tea to put in it!
