Okay, so the other day I was making tea and realized my teapot was getting cold way too fast. I did a little digging and found out you’re supposed to warm the teapot first. Who knew? So, I decided to give it a try and, man, what a difference it makes! Here’s how I did it:

My Teapot Warming Experiment
First, I grabbed my kettle and filled it with fresh, cold water. I always use filtered water because, you know, better taste. Then, I popped the kettle on the stove and turned the heat to high.
While the kettle was heating up, I took my teapot – it’s a cute little ceramic one – and made sure it was empty. I mean, obviously, right? No old tea bags or leftover leaves.
Once the water in the kettle started to boil, I carefully poured some of the hot water into the teapot. Don’t fill it all the way! Just enough to swirl around and warm up the whole inside.
I put the lid on the teapot and let it sit for a minute or two. This is where the magic happens. The hot water heats up the ceramic, so it’ll keep your tea warmer for longer.
- Carefully pour some water.
- put the lid and wait.
After a couple of minutes, I picked up the teapot (carefully, it’s hot!) and swirled the water around one last time. Then, I poured the water out.

And that’s it! Now the teapot is all nice and warm, ready for brewing. I added my tea leaves, poured in the rest of the boiling water, and let it steep. My tea stayed hot for so much longer than before. Seriously, it’s a game-changer.
So, yeah, that’s my little teapot-warming adventure. It’s super simple, but it really does make a difference. Give it a try!
