Okay, let me tell you about this John Lewis teapot warmer I got. It wasn’t some grand plan, really. My tea just kept getting cold. Simple as that. I’d make a pot, enjoy the first cup, and then by the time I went back for a second, it was lukewarm. Pretty frustrating, you know?

So, I was just poking around online, not really looking for anything specific. Ended up on the John Lewis site. Saw this little teapot warmer thing. Didn’t look like much, just a basic stand. Thought, “Well, might as well give it a shot.” It wasn’t expensive or anything. Added it to my basket, checked out. Easy peasy.
It turned up a few days later. Just a small box. Opened it up. Exactly what I saw online. No surprises, which is good sometimes. It’s basically a metal frame, nice clean design, with a space underneath for a little candle.
Putting it to the Test
First time using it, I dug out some tealights. Found one, popped it into the holder bit on the warmer. Lit it with a match. Then I made my usual pot of tea. Once it had brewed, I carefully placed the teapot on top of the warmer stand.
Sat back down, had my first cup. Nice and hot, as usual. Then I got busy with something else for maybe, I don’t know, half an hour?
- Went back for that second cup.
- Poured it out.
- And yeah, it was still properly warm!
Success! It didn’t keep it boiling hot, obviously, just a little candle. But it definitely stopped that annoying cooldown. Made the whole pot enjoyable, not just the first bit.

Living With It
Been using it pretty regularly since then, especially on colder days or when I know I’m going to take my time drinking the pot. It just sits there, does its job. No fuss.
Cleaning is dead simple. Once it’s cooled down, just give it a wipe. If wax drips, you just scrape it off gently. Takes seconds.
It’s one of those simple things that just works. Doesn’t need plugging in, no complicated parts. Just a stand and a candle. Does exactly what it says on the tin, keeps the teapot warm. Happy I got it, solved my little cold tea problem without any drama.
