Alright, so I wanted to share a bit about something I’ve been using lately – this Maxwell & Williams teapot warmer. My tea kept getting cold, you know how it is, especially when I’m pottering around or reading. Got tired of microwaving mugs or just drinking lukewarm stuff.

So, I picked up one of these warmers. Didn’t expect much, really. Looked simple enough when I got it out of the box. Just a basic stand, usually ceramic or porcelain I think, with a spot underneath for a tea light candle. No instructions needed, pretty obvious how it works.
First time using it, I brewed a pot of my usual black tea. Grabbed a standard tea light, the little metal cup ones you can get anywhere, popped it in the holder space under the warmer, and lit it up. Carefully placed my teapot on top. The one I have fits quite nicely, sits stable which is important.
Using it Day-to-Day
And you know what? It actually does the job. It doesn’t keep the tea steaming hot like it’s just boiled, don’t expect that. But it definitely keeps it warm, properly warm, for a good hour or two. Way better than just leaving the pot on the counter. Perfect for stretching out a pot of tea over a longer period.
I’ve found it works best with my ceramic and porcelain teapots. Tried it with a glass one once, worked fine too. You just need to make sure the base of your teapot sits securely on the warmer’s top surface. Some of my wider teapots are a little less stable, so I tend to stick with the ones that fit well.

- Lighting the tea light is easy.
- Putting the teapot on top is straightforward.
- It genuinely keeps the tea at a pleasant drinking temperature.
Cleaning is no big deal either. Once it’s cooled down, just wipe it off. Sometimes a bit of soot might gather inside where the candle sits, but it comes off easily. Haven’t had any major wax spills or issues.
Final Thoughts
So yeah, it’s become a regular fixture when I make a pot of tea now, especially on lazy weekend mornings. It’s not fancy, it’s not complicated technology. It’s just a simple, practical thing that does exactly what it’s supposed to: keep the tea warm using a little candle. If you hate cold tea like me, it’s probably worth considering. Does the trick for me.
