Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get into using brass tea cups for a while now. I just love the look of them, and I heard they can even enhance the flavor of certain teas. So, I finally decided to take the plunge and get a set.

Finding the Right Cups
First things first, I needed to actually find some! I looked around at a few local shops, but didn’t really find anything that I liked, everyting seems old and used. Ended up checking online, and that’s it!
The Cleaning Process
Now, these cups were brand spanking new, so I figured they’d need a good cleaning before I used them. I didn’t want any weird factory residue messing with my tea.
- First Wash: I started with just warm, soapy water. Gave them a good scrub with a soft sponge, inside and out. Nothing fancy, just making sure to get any surface gunk off.
- Rinse, Rinse, Rinse: Rinsed them really thoroughly under running water. I didn’t want any soap taste in my tea either!
- The Polish:After several days using, l used is a mix of lemon juice and baking soda. I made a paste, rubbed it all over the cups, and let it sit for maybe 5-10 minutes.
- Final Rinse and Dry:Then I rinsed them again, super well, and dried them immediately with a soft cloth. Gotta prevent those water spots, you know?
The First Brew
Finally, time for the tea! I decided to go with a nice, fragrant black tea. I figured the brass might complement the boldness of the black tea. I boiled the water, steeped the tea, then poured it into my newly cleaned brass cup. My tea test so good!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m pretty happy with the whole experience. The cups look beautiful, and I do think they added something special to the tea-drinking process.
I’m definitely going to keep experimenting with different teas and see how the brass cups affect the flavor. It’s a fun little project, and hey, at the very least, I have some really cool-looking cups now!
