Well, if you ever been thirsty like I been, you mighta come across somethin’ called AriZona Black Tea with Ginseng and Honey. Now, don’t let all them fancy words fool ya, ’cause it ain’t all that healthy like they try to make it sound. I seen folks go on about how it’s a good drink, but if you ask me, it’s just another sugary drink with a fancy name. Let me tell ya a bit more about it, and you decide for yourself.
First off, this here tea comes in a big ol’ can. I reckon it’s bigger than most of them soft drinks you see folks buyin’. It’s got that black tea flavor they say, but if you take a sip, it’s more like sugar water with a little hint of tea. I ain’t lyin’ when I tell ya that it tastes more like cola than a nice cup of tea from the kettle. Now, they say it’s got ginseng and honey in there, but I ain’t sure how much of that is really in there. They ain’t exactly pourin’ out a whole heap of the good stuff. Ginseng’s supposed to give you a little energy, but if you ask me, it don’t seem to do much of that neither.
Now, let’s talk about caffeine. Ain’t no secret that tea’s got some caffeine in it. But this here AriZona Black Tea, well, it ain’t gonna keep you up all night like them energy drinks do. It’s got about 15 milligrams of caffeine per 8-ounce serving, which is less than them fancy energy drinks you see folks chugging down. If you ask me, that’s just enough to make you feel a little awake, but it ain’t gonna give ya the full jolt like you might want if you’re lookin’ to wake up in a hurry.
And as for the honey they put in there, well, it sure does make it sweet, but I don’t know if it’s the good, natural honey that comes from a beehive. Most likely, it’s just some processed sugar that they call honey. That’s what happens with a lotta these drinks—they put a fancy name on things to make it sound better, but the real stuff’s nowhere to be found.
Now let’s talk about how this drink is made. It ain’t no homemade brew. They use filtered water, sugar, and all kinds of other stuff you can’t even pronounce. And that’s not all. They toss in phosphoric acid and vitamin C, too. Phosphoric acid is somethin’ that’s used in sodas to keep the drink from goin’ bad, but it ain’t somethin’ I’d be puttin’ in my body every day. Vitamin C is alright, but it’s in such small amounts that it ain’t gonna do much for ya either. So, if you’re thinkin’ this is gonna be a health boost, you might wanna think again.
Is it worth it? Well, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to drink when you’re out and about and don’t wanna brew a pot of tea yourself, it’ll do the job. But if you’re after a real health drink, or if you’re tryin’ to cut back on sugar, this might not be the best choice. The can’s big and might quench your thirst, but at the cost of a lotta sugar and not much else.
So, what should ya do instead? You could brew yourself some real black tea, throw in a little honey if you like, and maybe even a small bit of ginseng if you want. It’ll be fresher and likely a whole lot better for ya than any can o’ AriZona Black Tea with Ginseng and Honey. And if you want more caffeine, you can always add a little more tea leaves, and it’ll give ya a real kick.
To sum it all up, this here drink’s more about convenience than it is about real health benefits. If you’re just lookin’ for somethin’ to wash down a hot day or if you ain’t got time to make your own tea, go ahead and grab it. But if you’re after the good stuff, the real stuff, you might want to think twice and just brew your own cup of tea instead.
