Okay, so I got this new thing, a cast iron teapot warmer, model number HSTW1. I’ve been wanting to keep my tea warm for longer, and I heard these things are great for that. Let me tell you how I got started with it.
First, I got the whole package out and made sure everything was there. The warmer itself feels pretty solid, nice and heavy like you’d expect from cast iron. It’s got this simple, kind of rustic look that I really dig. I’m really excited about it!
Before doing anything, I wanted to get the teapot ready. I remember reading somewhere that you shouldn’t just throw a cold teapot on a hot warmer, could crack it or something. So, I filled the teapot with some warm water and let it sit for a bit. Just to get it used to the heat, you know?
Then I got to work on preparing the tea. I didn’t put the tea in the pot at this time. Instead, I use the pot to warm up the water. While the water was heating, I grabbed my little tea light candle and placed it in the warmer. Lit it up, no problem. The flame was a bit small, but seemed like it would do the trick.
- Step 1: Put the candle in.
- Step 2: Light the candle.
Once the teapot was nice and warm, and the water is boiled, I placed the teapot on the warmer. It fit perfectly, nice and snug. Then, I took out the tea leaves, and put some into the teapot, and poured the hot water over them. Gave it a little swirl. I could see the water starting to change color. Then I waited for the tea to brew.
And that’s it! Kept my tea warm for ages. Way longer than usual. We are talking a couple of hours here, easy. It was my first time using it, but it all went pretty smoothly. Seriously, this thing is awesome.
A Few Things I Learned
- Warm up the teapot first, don’t shock it with heat.
- Make sure the warmer is on a stable surface. Don’t want any accidents.
- Don’t leave the candle unattended. Safety first, people!
All in all, I’m super happy with this cast iron teapot warmer. It looks good, works great, and it’s just a cool little addition to my tea routine. If you’re a tea lover like me, I definitely recommend checking one out.
