Okay, so the other day, I was thinking, “My tea gets cold way too fast!” I love having a warm cup of tea, especially when I’m chilling at home, but it’s a bummer when it gets cold before I can finish it. I got this idea to make a simple tea warmer. Nothing fancy, just something to keep my teapot warm using a tea light.
I had this old ceramic pot lying around, it was plain and not really being used. I thought this could be the base. First, I flipped the pot upside down and checked if it was stable enough. Yep, it was pretty solid. Then I took a small tea light candle and placed it underneath to see how it would fit. The candle was just the right size.
I needed to make some holes in the pot for air, otherwise, the candle wouldn’t burn. I grabbed a marker and drew a few small circles on the sides of the pot. Then I used a small drill, it was kind of tricky because ceramic can be brittle, I made sure to go slow, to make sure the pot doesn’t break, I drilled the holes carefully, one by one.
- Drill the holes gently.
- Clean up the dust after drilling.
- Test the airflow by lighting the candle.
After drilling, I cleaned up the ceramic dust and placed the tea light inside. I lit the candle and put my teapot on top of the upside-down pot. It worked like a charm! The heat from the candle was enough to keep the tea warm without making it too hot. I watched for a while to make sure nothing would tip over or get too hot. All good!
My Little Project
It was such a simple project, but I was pretty proud of it. It’s amazing what you can do with just a few things you have around the house. Now I can enjoy my tea at a leisurely pace, and it stays warm for a long time. Plus, it looks kinda cute on my table.
If you like warm tea, you should try this. It’s easy, cheap, and it works great. Just be careful with the drilling and always keep an eye on the lit candle. Happy crafting!
