Oh, this lemon iced green tea, you know, it’s the thing these days. My neighbor, she’s always goin’ on about it. Says it’s good for ya. I reckon I’ll tell ya what I know about it. It’s mighty popular, that’s for sure. I see folks sippin’ it all the time, ‘specially when it’s hot out. Keeps ’em cool, I suppose.
Now, they say this lemon iced green tea is good for you. Somethin’ about, uh, healthy stuff in it. I don’t know all them fancy words. But if it makes ya feel good, then I guess it’s alright. I seen folks drinkin’ it after they done worked up a sweat, so maybe it helps with that. Like when you been working in the sun and need somethin’ to cool you down.
This here green tea, it’s been around for ages. Folks been drinkin’ it for longer than I can remember. And that lemon, well, lemon’s good for somethin’, I reckon. Makes it taste a little better, maybe. Some folks don’t like that green tea by itself, so they put a little somethin’ in it. A little lemon, a little honey. Whatever floats your boat, I say.
They make it all sorts of ways. Some brew that green tea hot, then pour it over ice. That iced green tea, you see, that’s the way they like it. Others just let it sit in the fridge till it’s cold. Me? I don’t rightly care as long as it’s wet and cold on a hot summer day. Makes the day a bit more bearable, you know?
I heard that lemon, it’s got that, uh, sour taste. What’s that word? Oh, citrusy. Makes your mouth pucker up a little. But it cuts through that, uh, grassy taste of the green tea. Some folks say the green tea tastes like grass. I don’t know about that. But the lemon, it helps. It balances it out, they say. Makes it taste better. Or somethin’.
Here’s the thing about makin’ this lemon iced green tea:
- First, you gotta get that green tea. Comes in little bags, you know.
- Then, you boil some water. Like you’re makin’ coffee, but it ain’t coffee.
- Put that tea bag in the hot water. Let it sit there for a bit.
- Then, you gotta get some lemons. Cut ’em up. Squeeze that juice out.
- Pour that tea over ice, lots of ice. Then put that lemon juice in there.
- Some folks like it sweet, so they put honey in it. I like honey. Makes it taste better.
Now, some folks, they get fancy with it. They put mint in there too. Mint and honey and lemon. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but, hey, if that’s what they like. I’ve seen ’em with it, walkin’ around, sippin’ on their fancy drinks. They think they’re somethin’ special with their lemon iced green tea with mint and honey. But I’m happy with somethin’ simple. As long as it’s cold. And wet.
I reckon this lemon iced green tea, it ain’t goin’ nowhere. It’s here to stay. ‘Cause folks like it. They say it’s good for ’em. Helps ’em feel better. I don’t know about all that. But I do know it’s cool and refreshin’. And sometimes, that’s all ya need on a hot day. Just somethin’ to cool ya down and make ya feel a little bit better.
I remember my grandma, she used to make us drink all sorts of things. Said it was good for us. Don’t know if it was true, but we drank it anyway. Maybe this lemon iced green tea is like that. Somethin’ old that’s new again. And maybe, just maybe, it really is good for ya. Who knows. These young folks, they’re always comin’ up with new things, but sometimes those new things ain’t so new after all. Sometimes they just something old done up in a new way.
Well, I reckon I’ve talked your ear off about this here drink. If you ain’t tried it, maybe you should. It might surprise ya. It’s just green tea and lemon. And maybe some honey if you like it sweet. But on a hot day, it sure does hit the spot. That cold, citrusy taste. It’s somethin’ else. And maybe, just maybe, it’ll make ya feel a little bit better too. So, try it. It’s worth a try I guess.
Don’t take my word for it. I don’t know nothin’ about healthy stuff. But lots of folks drink it and like it a lot. It’s somethin’ to think about. Somethin’ to try. That lemon iced green tea. Yep, that’s the thing. So, that’s all I got to say about it I think. It’s been nice talkin’ to ya.
