So, the other day I got this craving for something cold and refreshing, but also kinda unique, you know? I was just chilling at home, flipping through some food blogs, when I stumbled upon this idea of passion fruit green tea. It sounded interesting, and I had some green tea bags lying around, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
Prepping
First off, I grabbed my kettle and boiled some water. While that was going on, I dug out a couple of those lipton green tea bags from the back of my cupboard. Once the water was ready, I poured it into a big jug and tossed in the tea bags, letting them steep for, like, 5 minutes or so. I wanted that green tea flavor to be nice and strong.
After the steeping, I took out the tea bags and set the jug aside to cool down a bit. I didn’t want to burn myself later, you feel me? While the tea was cooling, I got to work on the passion fruit part. I had to run to the store real quick to grab some fresh passion fruits because I wanted that real, authentic taste. It was totally worth the trip, by the way.
Mixing
Back home, I cut those passion fruits in half and scooped out all that juicy, seedy goodness into a bowl. Man, the smell was amazing – so tropical and sweet. I strained the passion fruit pulp to get rid of the seeds.
By now, the green tea had cooled down enough, so I mixed in the passion fruit juice. I also added a bit of honey to sweeten it up a little more. I’m not a huge fan of super sweet drinks, so I went easy on the honey, but you do you.
Cooling
- I stirred everything together, making sure the honey was all dissolved and the flavors were nicely blended.
- Then, I popped the jug into the fridge to chill for a couple of hours.
- You could totally drink it right away over ice, but I prefer my drinks ice-cold, especially on a hot day.
Serving
Finally, when it was all chilled, I poured myself a tall glass over some ice cubes and took a sip. And let me tell you, it was awesome! That combination of earthy green tea and tangy, sweet passion fruit was just perfect. It was super refreshing and exactly what I needed. I even sliced up some extra passion fruit and added it to the glass for a little extra flair and flavor.
So yeah, that’s how I ended up making my own lipton green tea passion fruit drink at home. It was a fun little experiment, and it turned out way better than I expected. Definitely gonna be making this again sometime soon!
