Alright guys, so today I’m sharing my little DIY project – a mini teapot tealight warmer! It was a fun weekend experiment and I gotta say, I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.

It all started last Saturday. I was browsing online, looking for a cute way to keep my tea warm. I saw some fancy ceramic tealight warmers, but they were kinda pricey. Then, bam! An idea hit me: why not try to make one myself using a mini teapot I had tucked away in a cupboard? It was gathering dust anyway, so I figured, what the heck?
First things first, I rummaged through my craft box. I needed something to elevate the teapot slightly above the tealight. I found these little ceramic coasters I bought ages ago. Perfect! I grabbed one, tested the height with a tealight candle, and it looked promising.
Next up, ventilation. You gotta let that heat escape, right? So, I took a small drill bit and carefully drilled a few holes in the ceramic coaster. Not too big, just enough for airflow. I was super careful not to crack the thing. Thankfully, it worked!
Now, for the teapot itself. I cleaned it up, made sure it was bone dry. Then, I placed the coaster with the holes drilled in it on a flat surface. I carefully positioned the mini teapot on top of the coaster, making sure it was stable.
The moment of truth! I lit a tealight candle and slid it under the teapot, centering it as best I could. Then, I brewed a small pot of my favorite green tea. Poured it into the mini teapot, and waited.

And you know what? It actually worked! The tea stayed warm for a good hour or so. Not piping hot, but definitely warm and enjoyable. I was so stoked!
Here’s a quick rundown of what I used:
- A mini teapot (duh!)
- A small ceramic coaster
- A drill with a small drill bit
- A tealight candle
- My favorite tea!
Things I learned:
- Drilling ceramic is scary, but doable with patience.
- Ventilation is key! Don’t skip the holes.
- A smaller teapot works better, it heats up faster.
Overall, this was a super simple and satisfying project. It took maybe an hour, tops, and now I have a cute and functional tealight warmer. Plus, I finally put that mini teapot to good use!
Would I do it again? Absolutely! Maybe next time I’ll try using a different coaster material or even try painting the teapot. The possibilities are endless!

Give it a shot, guys! It’s a fun little project, and you’ll have warm tea in no time.
