Okay, so I’ve been planning this tea party for my daughter’s birthday, and I really wanted to do something special with the cups. I didn’t want to just use regular old disposable ones, I wanted something cute and themed. So, I started looking into ‘tea party paper cups’ and got inspired to do a little DIY project.

First, I grabbed some plain white paper cups from the store. Nothing fancy, just the basic ones. I figured I could jazz them up myself, and it would be way cheaper than buying pre-decorated ones.
Finding The Inspiration
- I searched online for ideas. I was imagining flowers, pastels, maybe some glitter… you know, girly tea party stuff.
- I found a lot of really complicated designs, but I’m not exactly a crafting expert. I needed something easy!
- Then I came across this simple idea of using washi tape and stickers. Perfect!
The Fun Part: Decorating!
I bought a bunch of different washi tapes – floral patterns, polka dots, stripes, all in pretty pastel colors. I also picked up some cute little stickers: flowers, butterflies, hearts, that sort of thing.
Then, the fun began! I started by wrapping the washi tape around the cups. Some I did just around the rim, others I did in stripes down the side. It was surprisingly easy, and the tape stuck really well.
After the tape, I added the stickers. I let my daughter help with this part, which she loved. We put flowers on some, butterflies on others, just mixing and matching until they looked cute and festive.
The Final Result
I created my ideal “tea party paper cups”!

Honestly, they turned out way better than I expected! They look so much nicer than plain white cups, and it was such a fun and easy project. Plus, it was a great way to get my daughter involved in the party planning. I’m definitely going to do this again for future parties. It’s a simple way to add a personal touch without spending a ton of money or time.
