Today I wanted to try something different – making a candle warmer from a ceramic teapot. I’ve seen these things online, and they look pretty neat, plus it seemed like a fun little project. So, I grabbed an old ceramic teapot I had lying around. It’s one of those that I never really used for tea anyway.
First things first, I cleaned the teapot thoroughly. I mean, who wants candle wax mixing with old tea residue, right? I gave it a good scrub inside and out, made sure it was squeaky clean. Then I let it dry completely. I didn’t want any water messing up the wax later.
Next, I needed to figure out how to get the candle inside the teapot. I decided to use a small tealight candle since it seemed like the perfect size. I carefully placed the tealight inside the teapot. It fit snugly at the bottom, which was great.
Now, the tricky part was figuring out how to keep the teapot elevated so the heat from the candle could actually do its job. I rummaged through my kitchen drawers and found some old metal cookie cutters. I arranged three of them in a triangle shape on a heat-resistant mat and placed the teapot on top. It was a bit wobbly at first, but after some adjusting, it seemed pretty stable.
- Clean the teapot
- Place tealight inside
- Elevate teapot with cookie cutters
- Light the candle
Finally, I lit the candle and waited. Slowly but surely, I could feel the teapot getting warmer. I placed a small dish with some wax melts on top of the teapot’s lid, just to see if it would actually work. And guess what? It did! The wax started to melt, and a lovely fragrance filled the room.
Honestly, it was easier than I thought it would be. And it looks pretty cool too, like a quirky little decoration. Plus, I get to enjoy my favorite scented candles without having an open flame just sitting there. I’m pretty stoked about how it turned out. It’s these small DIY projects that make me happy. Maybe I’ll try making another one with a different teapot someday!
