Okay, so the other day I went to Trader Joe’s, you know, that grocery store with all the cool and unique stuff? Anyway, I was walking through the aisles, and my eyes landed on their tea section. I’m a big tea person, especially oolong.
I noticed they had this Golden Oolong Tea, and I got curious. I usually go to specialty tea shops for my oolong fix, but I thought, “Why not give this one a try?” I picked up a box and checked out the packaging. Nothing too fancy, just a simple design, but it said “unsweetened,” which is how I like my tea.
Back home, I boiled some water and brewed a cup. The tea had a nice golden color, just like the name suggested. I took a sip, and honestly, it wasn’t bad at all. It wasn’t as complex or rich as some of the high-end oolongs I’ve had, but it was definitely a decent cup of tea.
- Smell: It had a light, floral aroma. Not too strong, but pleasant.
- Taste: The taste was smooth and slightly sweet, even though it’s unsweetened. It had a bit of that roasted flavor that oolong is known for.
- Caffeine: I know some people wonder about the caffeine. It felt like it had a moderate amount, a bit more than green tea but not as much as black tea. Good for a little afternoon pick-me-up.
I’ve been drinking it for a few days now, both hot and cold. I even tried adding a bit of honey once, and that was pretty good too. Overall, I’d say Trader Joe’s Golden Oolong Tea is a solid choice if you’re looking for an everyday oolong. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s a tasty and affordable option.
I saw some other teas there too, I think their English breakfast is also good. May be I will try it next time. If someone ask me whether Trader Joe’s tea is good or not, I will say it is really depends. But if you just want to find some normal tea, I think it is a good choice. Or if you want to find something special, may be you need to go to the specialty tea shops.
